Equipping Less Able
Student 4
Dear Kind Supporters,
My name is Denis and my passion for design goes beyond creating beautiful spaces or visuals; it’s about crafting experiences that resonate on a personal level, making people feel something the moment they step into a room or see a piece of art. I’m fascinated by the blend of art, history, and psychology—understanding how elements like colour, layout, and lighting can impact our emotions and perceptions. Design has become my language for storytelling and connection, giving me a way to express not only my creativity but also a deeper purpose.
Growing up, I learned from my grandmother that trusting in the lord and hard work combined with purpose could open doors, and that belief has only grown. When I discovered design, I realized I had found a calling that combined my passions with my purpose. My love for history feeds my design ideas, giving them depth and context; psychology helps me understand how design affects people’s emotions and well-being. Design isn’t just my craft—it’s a powerful way to bring value to people’s lives.
I see design as a way to give back, much like the ways I aim to help my community. I’ve always been someone who wants to make a positive impact, whether that’s volunteering locally or creating spaces that bring comfort and beauty to others. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about knowing I can use my skills to create environments that make people feel understood, seen, and inspired. I want to design not just with aesthetics in mind but with compassion and empathy, bringing a sense of belonging and joy to places that might otherwise lack them.
Alongside my passion for design, I’m also a devoted Liverpool fan. To me, supporting Liverpool goes beyond just watching matches; it’s a reminder of loyalty, resilience, and the power of community—values I hold dear. The team’s motto, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” resonates deeply with me, reminding me to approach life and design with a spirit of unity and support for others.
My faith is another cornerstone of who I am. As a friend of Jesus Christ, I draw strength, purpose, and love from my relationship with Him. This faith encourages me to pursue my dreams with humility and compassion, treating each project as a chance to bring light and encouragement to others. I see design as a way to serve, to uplift, and to share a sense of beauty and connection with the world, guided by the values my faith instils in me.
As I build my career, I’m ready to take on the challenges and push the boundaries of what design can achieve. I want to keep growing, learning new techniques, and collaborating with others who share this same passion. Whether it’s through accessible design that brings comfort to communities, innovative spaces that uplift those who need it most, or simply creating something beautiful that brings a smile to someone’s face, my goal is to use my skills in a way that truly matters. I’m excited to blend my love for design, community, my faith, and even my love for Liverpool into a career that’s not just about me, but about the impact I can leave on the world.
Yours Faithfully,
Denis
